A paper bag is part of the handover experience. The right choice should fit the contents, be comfortable to carry and give your branding enough space to be clearly seen.
Measure what goes inside
Start with the packed product, not just the product itself. Include boxes, protective material and any inserts. Confirm how the supplier defines width, height and gusset so that everyone is working from the same measurements. Leave practical room for loading and removal.
Match the construction to the job
Compare paper type, handle style and base construction. Appearance alone does not establish carrying strength: ask for the relevant specification and check a sample with the intended contents. For drinks, confirm cup dimensions, lids and any separate cup carrier; a paper bag alone should not be assumed to keep cups upright or contain spills.
Consider the look of the paper
Natural kraft, white and dark paper create different starting points for a logo. A colour can look different on each surface. Request an artwork proof and discuss whether a physical print sample is needed before agreeing the final result.
Keep the branding purposeful
A simple single-colour mark can create a clear, uncluttered presentation. Confirm the print area and position, and leave room around folds and handles. If you need full-colour printing, ask which processes and finishes are suitable for the selected bag.
Check the full quotation
Confirm quantity, bag dimensions, paper specification, handles, print colours, packaging, production schedule and delivery charges. Any included setup or printing should be stated explicitly. Recycling and environmental claims should be based on the actual materials and finish supplied, rather than the bag’s appearance.
